CH Markham

Cedar Heights Residential Living Markham is a licensed children’s residential home that accommodates up to 8 youths 12- 18 years of Age. CHM pays particular attention to youths who have been diagnosed with PDD ( Pervasive Developmental Disorder) and ASD ( Autistic Spectrum Disorder). We place emphasis on Structured Teaching and follow the TEACCH approach to Autism throughout our program. This program permits our youth to learn at their own pace and educational level in a structured setting.

We have a fully functioning Sensory Room within our residence which enables our youth to better understand their environment. We place a great deal of emphasis on re- engineering the youth’s environment to best facilitate positive behaviors from all our youth in our program. Visual cues are throughout the residence to also aid each youth to better understand their environment and expectations.

A great deal of time is spent on: life skills, positive interaction and skill building for each of our youth in our program. Recreational activities for all our youth include, Variety Village, Wonderland, Zoo, Camping, Wilderness walks etc.
